Rafting on the Iguaçu River consists of going down with inflatable boats, for approximately 4 km, 2 km of rapids, medium level (class III+) and 2 km of calmer waters where it is possible floating in the river. The beginning is close to the waterfalls with a magnificent view of the falls.
Duration: Takes about 2 hours. It leaves from Cânion Iguaçu and finishes in the center of Macuco Safari (20min of walking (20min for safety instructions, 15min for procedures, 35min going down the rapids and 30 minutes to arrive at the Center of Macuco Safari Park).
Ages: It’s only for people from 14 years old or above. For people between the ages of 14 and 17 it is necessary an authorization signed by a responsible person (parent, relatives over the age of 21, or legal guardian). This authorization must be signed in the Ticket Office and taken by the person until the deck and presented before boarding, or the responsible can sign it in the boarding. Without the responsibility terms signed, they can’t do the Rafting.
Safety:
Life jackets: The life jackets are specific for the Rafting activities and have been upgraded by the addition of extra flotation material, for maximum protection. Three sizes of life jackets are available, small, medium and large, regulated to a support capacity above 120Kg. (265 pounds)
Helmets: The helmets used are made of plastic injected with protection for the ears and have internal adjustments to adapt to the individual’s head.
Support Boat: A Support Motor Boat always accompanies the rafters with a pilot and an assistant, and is fully equipped with emergency equipment in the event of a unexpected event occurring.
Medical support: There is a qualified first aid attendant in the Macuco embarkation. Besides the first aid attendant the company has in place a procedure set up, should need to arise for the medical evacuation.
Tips: We suggest light clothing that will get wet and sunscreen.
Except the Rock Climbing Without Guide, the activities don’t need experience. The Cânion Iguaçu offers all the equipments. All the visitors will receive the instructions, the safety norms and will be accompanied with specialized guides, always prioritizing the welfare, forming an alliance between nature and adventure.
