Sport Fishing in the Paraná River or Itaipu Lake

For lovers of the good fishing we offer two options for this activity: the Paraná River and the Itaipu Lake.
Sport fishing is a relaxing activity and at the same time exciting because it combines the landscape that soothes and the good fight with the fish.
In the Paraná River, the largest river system of the La Plata basin, the strech of the lake which is used in the fishery is of approximately 40 km. In this strech, once a year, fishermen from the three countries meet in a competition called the Golden Fish Fishery Championship, a test for anyone who enjoys a fishing challenge.
The most common species in Paranazão are: gold fish, known as "Tiger of the Parana" and piapara.
The artificial lake of Itaipu, the seventh in size of Brazil, with its 1,350 km2 and 29 million m3, and offers a good variety of fish, offering fishermen with its landscape, its sunset and its beaches.
The most frequent species in its waters are the sea bass and the famous peacock bass, which pursues its prey without giving up until it is able to capture it, and for this it is considered one of the most sporting fish in Brazil, reaching 3 kg when adult.
